If the materials you will be storing are flammable, you will need a building that meets the NFPA Code 30, Uniform Fire Code (UFC) Articles 79 and 80, or an equivalent local code. (Check with your local Fire Marshall to determine which code is locally enforced.)

2-Hour Uni-Directional FireShield™ Fire-Rated Hazardous Material Storage Buildings
FireShield™ Model FS hazardous material storage buildings offer UL Classified fire-resistive gypsum board construction resulting in a two-hour (2 hr.) uni-directional rating per Underwriters Laboratories Fire Resistance Rating Design Number U505. This construction will prevent the spread of an interior building fire to the exterior of the storage building for a period of two hours. Model FSE features an explosion control venting option, if required.
2-Hour Bi-Directional Fire-Rated Hazardous Material Storage Buildings
Model FR 2-Hour bi-directional fire-rated buildings are fabricated from noncombustible rugged structural components with galvannealed interior and exterior skin and UL Classified fire-resistive gypsum wall board resulting in a two-hour (2 hr.) bi-directional rating per Underwriters Laboratories Fire Resistance Rating Design (Standard U425). These buildings are designed for the storage of hazardous materials stored in drums, compressed gas cylinders, bottles and other packages. Model FRE features explosion control venting, if required.
Models FS/FSE and FR/FRE are available in standard sizes from 26 sq. ft. to 601 sq. ft. to accommodate from 6 to 150 standard 55-gallon drums. Customizable modular buildings are available to meet storage requirements exceeding 150 drums. Model FS/FSE and FR/FRE construction is required for the storage of flammable materials where the storage building is located near other buildings and / or property lines.
4-Hour Bi-Directional Fire-Rated Hazardous Material Storage Buildings
Model 4FR Hazardous Material Storage Buildings are fabricated from noncombustible heavy gauge sheet steel, galvannealed sheet steel, structural channel, tube and UL Classified fire-resistive gypsum wall board resulting in a four-hour (4hr.) bi-directional rating per Underwriters Laboratories Fire Resistance Rating Design (Standard U490).
These buildings are available in standard sizes from 26 sq. ft.to 601 sq. ft. to accommodate from 6 to 150 standard 55-gallon drums. Modular buildings are available for storage requirements exceeding 150 drums. This construction is required for the storage of flammable materials where the storage building is located close to other buildings and/or property lines or when the storage building is placed within another plant structure.
