Dichloromethane or methylene chloride is a clear colorless nonflammable volatile liquid chlorinated hydrocarbon with a sweet pleasant smell. Methylene chloride, also known as dichloromethane or DCM, is used as an industrial solvent in paint removers and degreasing agents in electronics manufacturing and many other industrial uses.
