Eye Safety on the Job

How much thought do you put into your eyes at work? If you want to protect them, you should take time to think about safety gear and how it can help you.

There’s good reason to consider eyes more than you do: Eye injuries equal missed work days as well as nearly half of all head injuries. And those eye injuries can come from a variety of sources—things as innocuous as dust or as dangerous as metal slivers. There are also less tangible things, including chemicals and radiation.  It’s not just traditional professions, such as construction, that are at risk. People around animals, janitors, and health care—all are industries that hold risk for eye injuries.
