Fire Rated Storage Buildings
Optional Fire Rating (2-Hour or 4-Hour Fire Rated) available for most Drum Storage Buildings:
Chemical Storage Buildings located within 10 feet of a main building or property line require a 4-hr fire rating. Units 10-50 feet from a main building or property line require a 2-hr fire rating. Units more than 75 feet from structures or property lines usually require no fire rating. (Check with your local authorities for any variation in code requirements. Some areas have stricter requirements.) National fire codes also indicate that 4 hour fire rated lockers and buildings can be placed inside other facilities, whereas 2-hour rated buildings are only for outdoor use.
If storing flammables and your building meets location requirements mentioned above, you will need a building that meets the NFPA Code 30, Uniform Fire Code (UFC) Articles 79 and 80, or an equivalent local code. (Check with your local Fire Marshall to determine which codes are locally enforced.)

All pre-fab storage buildings arrive assembled and most require a slab or flat surface for proper installation. Permits may be required for your storage building. Consult your city or county offices for more information.
