Perchloric Acid, 60 Percent, Reagent, ACS is a strong mineral acid (stronger than both sulfuric and nitric acid) under some circumstances it may act as an oxidizer possibly present an explosion hazards when hot; its aqueous solutions up to approximately 70% and room temperature are generally safe, only showing strong acid features and no oxidizing properties. It is used as an etchant in the electronics industry.
