Polypropylene bottles and containers are autoclavable and ideal for environmental sampling, pharmaceutical and chemical packaging, and for laboratory samples. Rugged and durable, polypropylene bottles are an excellent choice for high and low temperature applications and are chemically resistant to a wide range of chemicals, solvents, bases and acids.
Polypropylene Chemical resistance
- Excellent resistance (no attack) to dilute and concentrated acids, alcohols and bases, with the notable exception of concentrated nitric acid and sulphuric acid (>65%)
- Good resistance (minor attack) to solvents such as Acetone, Formalin, Chlorine, phenol, Ethyl acetate, sulpher dioxide.
- Limited resistance (moderate attack suitable for short-term use only) to solvents such as MEK, toluene, nitrobenzene, benzol, Chlorobenzene, Chlorobenzene, Ethyl dichloride.
- Poor resistance to petrol, chloroform, Carbon disulphide, Trichlorethylene, Nitric acid > 65 %
