Disposable, sterile Astral Inoculating Systems include 96 inoculating loops. Puncture the sterile individual membrane with the handle, it instantly attaches to the sterile needle inside, and withdraw, ready for use. Easy to eject and discard after inoculation or streaking.  Each case of ten 96-loop systems includes a reusable Astral handle.

Astral Sterile Inoculating Loop System

Each rack includes 96 Inoculating loops. During manufacturing, these loops are inserted into racks which have 96 individual tubular chambers and then hermetically sealed with a thin plastic membrane. A dust cover is placed over this 96 chamber rack, heat shrunk and sterilized by irradiation.

The handle is designed to be used with one hand and will easily puncture the membrane attaching itself to the hub of the streaking needle. It may then be withdrawn from its individual sterile chamber ready to be used for inoculation or streaking. When the inoculation process is complete, the needle may then be ejected and discarded. This easy to use and ruggedly designed handle may be autoclaved repeatedly, without damage.

Procedures: All Astral Loops and needles may be used in quantitative procedures such as sampling, urine counts, serial dilutions, and bacteriological inoculation.

SAFETY: Eliminate the flaming step and the hazards of spattering, cross-contamination, and the risk of infectious pathogens caused as a result of aerosols, and the hazards of open flame.

CONVENIENCE: Astral streaking needles may be quickly extracted from the sterilized rack by using the Astral Handle. Flexible enough to facilitate streaking but rigid enough to penetrate the media for inoculation.

TIME SAVINGS: The Astral Inoculation System allows the technologist to inoculate prepared plates at an extremely rapid rate in any laboratory setting or condition, i.e., anaerobic chambers, fume hoods, satellite labs or, in the field.
