Volatile organic solvents are essential for many lab instruments, including HPLC, LC-MS, FPLC, and SFC. However, their use poses significant health and safety risks. Our Solvent Extraction and Delivery Caps provide a dynamic, closed-system solution to safely manage these chemicals. Choose adapters based on your preferred tubing size. A set of plugs in included in our kits to maintain a closed system when holes are not in use.

Bottle and 38/430 thread type

The 38-430 thread finish is a widely used standard for plastic bottles in laboratories such as Nalgene 4 liter plastic bottles. Unlike 38 mm glass threads, the 38-430 thread on plastic bottles often incorporates additional height and structure, making it incompatible with most GL38 caps, despite being the same diameter. This thread finish must match for an airtight seal.

Please note that caps without a built-in air check valve require an alternative way to accept air into the bottle as the solvent is displaced; such as part # WF-PR-115 air inlet valve or by attaching a nitrogen or helium gas line in order to sparge the solution prior to use.

For labs which do not need to use groundable safety containers, we offer these port caps to adapt to standard drum and pail closures, as well as Nalgene® 83B, 53B, and 100-415 carboys. PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO GROUND DRUM, PAIL, GLASS BOTTLE AND CARBOY (NON-JUSTRITE®) CONTAINERS; THIS MAY RESULT IN A SAFETY HAZARD WITH FLAMMABLE SOLVENTS.
