How to Measure Your Glove Size

To measure your glove size, wrap a soft measuring tape around your hand at its widest point, just above the thumb. The diameter of the hand (rounded up to the nearest half inch) is numerically equal to the person's average glove size: For example, 7.25-8 inches around equals a size 8 glove.Measure your hand at the widest part

Step-by-step guide

  1. Measure hand circumference at its widest point, just below the fingers but above the thumb.
  2. Record the measurement in inches.
  3. Compare your measurement to a glove size chart to find your size.
  4. Round up if you're in between sizes.

An alternative way of measuring is to wrap a string or a thin strip of paper around the hand, mark the length with a pen, and then flatten it so you can use an ordinary ruler to measure the distance. (If you use metric, divide your measurement in centimeters by 2.5 to get inches.)

Most glove sizes correlate to inches. If your measurement is:

  • 6.5 - 7 inches = Size 7 (Small)
  • 7.5 - 8 inches = Size 8 (Medium)
  • 8.5 - 9 inches = Size 9 (Large)
  • 9.5 - 10 inches = Size 10 (XL)

Some manufacturers have unique glove sizing methods and this information applies only to the most common US standard.
