Description

Safe and Secure Solvent Delivery with a basic safety cap for glass media bottles

Volatile organic solvents are essential for many lab instruments, including HPLC, LC-MS, FPLC, and SFC. However, their use poses significant health and safety risks. Our Solvent Extraction and Delivery Port Caps provide a dynamic, closed-system solution to safely manage these chemicals. Choose adapters based on your preferred tubing size. A set of plugs in included in our kits to maintain a closed system when holes are not in use.Solvent delivery caps keep solvents in and allow for safe, clean air displacement

Specifications:

  • fits glass solvent bottles with a GL-45 (45 mm) threaded closure
  • 4-ports, Type A (1/4-28 UNF) female threaded ports
  • PTFE insert for maximum chemical compatibility
  • Polypropylene outer spin collar prevents tubing from tangling
  • includes plugs
  • tubing adapters and venting filters sold separately

Diagram of a solvent delivery cap (right)

  • Solvent is fed to the laboratory instrument through tubing
  • Tubing adapter fitting securely attaches the tube to the cap and container
  • Chemically-resistant PTFE insert is exposed to contents and ensures compatibility with a wide range of lab solvents
  • Polypropylene spin collar is not exposed to contents. It rotates independently, protecting tubing from twisting or damage when cap is unscrewed
  • Clean air enters through one-way check valve to displace solvent as it flows into HPLC or LC-MS machine (air inlet valve is not included in this model but can be purchased separately # WF-PR-115)

Port Caps for bottles with a GL-45 glass thread type

The GL45 thread finish is found on glass media bottles and is designed to ensure a secure, airtight seal, making it ideal for use with sensitive and volatile chemicals. GL45 is the most common 45 mm glass closure size.

Our port caps are designed for "active" systems that continuously pump solvents. They offer a secure and effective way to extract and deliver pure reagents and solvents from their reservoirs to your instrument. Balanced to control airflow with effective mitigation of both evaporation and fumes, protecting lab personnel and preventing the loss of expensive reagents. Upgrade your lab's safety and efficiency with our closed-system solution for solvent handling. Please note that caps without a built-in air check valve require an alternative way to accept air into the bottle as the solvent is displaced; such as part # WF-PR-115 air inlet valve or by attaching a nitrogen or helium gas line in order to sparge the solution prior to use.

Includes the following parts:

WF-GL45-4 BOTTLE CAP, GL45 with 1/4-28 ports, PTFE insert, and blue Polypropylene spin collar
WF-1428-PLUG-EA Plugs, 1/4-28 UNF "Type A", polypropylene

For labs which do not need to use groundable safety containers, we offer these port caps to adapt to standard drum and pail closures, as well as Nalgene® 83B, 53B, and 100-415 carboys. PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO GROUND DRUM, PAIL, GLASS BOTTLE AND CARBOY (NON-JUSTRITE®) CONTAINERS; THIS MAY RESULT IN A SAFETY HAZARD WITH FLAMMABLE SOLVENTS.

PROP 65 WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including Tetrafluoroethylene PTFE, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer.
