DL-Carnitine Hydrochloride is a quaternary ammonium compound bio-synthesized from the amino acids lysine and methionine. It used in cosmetic and personal care products as a humectant and skin conditioning agent. It appears as a solid that is easily soluble in cold water, soluble in methanol and insoluble in diethyl ether and acetone.
