Description
Mercuric Sulfate, Powder, Reagent, ACS, also referred to as mercury sulfate, is a solid and odorless substance. When mixed with water it separates into two parts, an insoluble sulfate and the highly corrosive sulfuric acid. It has several uses, among them are the production of acetaldehyde, hydration of alkynes, the oxymercuration and demercuration of alkenes. As an ACS grade Reagent, Spectrum Chemical manufactured compound is used as the quality standard against which other substances are grade and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and pureness.
