TBHQ, Reagent, also known as tert-butylydroquinone or tertiary butylhydroquinone, is used as a stabilizer to inhibit autopolymerization of organic peroxides as well as a corrosion inhibitor in biodiesel. The Reagent grade denotes that this chemical is the highest quality commercially available and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
