The 63B “buttress” thread is widely used in North American tight-head containers, particularly in laboratory and industrial settings. Many notable examples employ the Rieke 63mm closure, designed with tamper-evident features and anti-back-off mechanisms to ensure product integrity and prevent leaks. Additionally, Entegris’ NOWPak liner-based systems employ this thread size in their Bag-in-a-Can (BIC) containers, combining a flexible liner within a rigid overpack to maintain chemical purity during storage and dispensing. The 63mm thread’s compatibility with various closure systems and its robust design make it a preferred choice for securely handling and transporting sensitive materials in demanding environments.
