Diluents and Stabilizers

Diluents and Stabilizers

Diluents are commonly used to adjust the concentration of a solution to a desired level, to decrease the viscosity of a solution, or to facilitate the mixing of components. A stabilizer can be added to a formulation to prevent or minimize undesirable chemical reactions, physical changes, or degradation processes. Stabilizers help maintain the stability, quality, and functionality of the product over time by protecting it from environmental factors, such as temperature, light, oxygen, and moisture.
