Marble's Reagent (Marble's Etch), 500 ml

Marble's Reagent. Also called Marble's Etch, this metallographic etchant is for etching 300 series austenitic stainless steels, nickel, and cobalt-based superalloys. The etchant will darken austenitic grains, attack sigma phases, and show grain flow. Please note that scratch marks from sample preparation will also become apparent.

User Instructions:

• To etch a corrosion resistant alloy, the metal surface has to be etched as soon it's polished, cleaned and dried without any delay. Otherwise, the metal surface will passivate.
• Immerse or swab the polished surface few seconds to a minute.
