Potassium Permanganate, Crystal, Reagent, ACS, also known as permanganate of potash, is an inorganic chemical compound and is a powerful oxidizing agent. It is water soluble and, when dissolved, becomes a pink to purple solution. It is commonly used in the film and television industry to create an old effect on props and as an antiseptic when diluted. It is also used extensively in the water treatment industry and as a reagent for the synthesis of organic compounds. As an ACS grade Reagent, Spectrum Chemical manufactured compound is used as the quality standard against which other substances are grade and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and pureness.
