Sodium Hypochlorite, Solution, 12 Percent Available Chlorine, Reagent is made from passing chlorine gas through cold and dilute sodium hydroxide solution. It is most commonly used as a bleaching agent to remove stains from laundry in the household. Sodium hypochlorite is also used for disinfection and cleaning.
