Vent Filter for ECO Funnel, PDVF

CP Lab Safety recommends adding 1 Vent Filter (KIT-HPLC-VF-PVDF) for every one or two HPLC lines attached to a Safety ECO Funnel. Vent filters relieve pressure that can build up inside the ECO Funnel. This new vent filter kit is, in general, highly compatible with chemicals.

This EZFlow® 25mm sample prep syringe filter is designed for aqueous and organic solutions. The filter membranes are reinforced with a polypropylene housing with a female Luer-Lock inlet and a male Luer Slip Outlet.

PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride) is a specialty plastic material in the fluoropolymer family; it is used generally in applications requiring the highest purity, strength, and resistance to solvents, acids, bases and heat and low smoke generation during a fire event. Compared to other fluoropolymers, it has an easier melt process because of its relatively low melting point of around 177°C

PVDF is resistant to solvents and may be used in biomedical application filters. The various properties of this material, such as heat resistance, resistance to chemical corrosion, and low protein binding properties, make this material valuable in the biomedical sciences and as a filter to prepare samples for analytical techniques such as HPLC, where small amounts of particulate matter can damage sensitive and expensive equipment.
