CP Lab Safety Commends the University of Arizona
The University of
Arizona received an award for outstanding efforts in food recovery from the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency. Through
the collaborative effort of students, food service staff and university
leaders, with the Tohono O’odham Nation’s San Xavier Co-Operative farm and the
city of Tuscan,food recovery increased by
1,232% between 2013 – 2014. Over the
last year, their efforts diverted 3.4 million pounds of food waste, landscape

STORMWATER VIOLATION: $145,000 in Fines
A manufacturing
facility in Fairbury, NE was recently cited and fined $145,000 for alleged
violations of EPA’s Clean Water Act (CWA) according to
a
press release from EPA Region 7
. In
order to be compliant with CWA and the
National
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
, facilities are required to
have a permit outlining procedures for wastewater handling to minimize and
